What is anti-social behaviour?

The Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003 defines anti-social behaviour as conduct that is:

"capable of causing nuisance or annoyance to any person"

It can take many forms - it might be someone who sprays graffiti on a wall, or a group of people making too much noise in the street or around your estate. It can take very serious forms too:from racial harassment to threats of violence. Read our harassment leaflet (pdf, 270Kb) for more details.

How to report anti-social behaviour

Whatever form anti-social behaviour takes, you need to tell us when it happens. Please report any anti-social behaviour by calling 0208 451 8000 or using our online anti-social behaviour form.

If you are unable to contact us during the day or if there is a serious incident during the evening or night (7pm to 8.30am) or over the weekend, you can call us on the same number as above and you will be connected to our out-of-hours hotline service.

How we deal with anti-social behaviour

We want to make our estates and communities safe places for everyone, which is why we take anti-social behaviour seriously.

We take a three-stage approach to dealing with anti-social behaviour: prevention, intervention and legal action. Our anti-social behaviour strategy (pdf, 1.79Mb) contains more information about Genesis Housing Group's approach.

We also have a leaflet which provides more background information (pdf, 475Kb) on anti-social behaviour.

Or you can download our anti-social behaviour policy (pdf, 292Kb).

Our domestic violence policy (pdf, 107Kb) also demonstrates our committment to raising awareness and tackling domestic violence.
