Locata is a choice-based lettings scheme. It allows people who
have applied for housing to choose the property and area they would
like to move to. PCHA tenants who apply for a transfer to the
following areas are automatically put forward for Locata:

- Barnet
- Brent
- Camden
- Dacorum
- Ealing
- Enfield
- Fulham
|
- Hackney
- Hammersmith
- Harringey
- Harrow

- Hertsmere
- Hillingdon
- Hounslow
|
| |
- Kensington and Chelsea
- Newham
- St Albans
- Tower Hamlets
- Waltham Forest
- Welwyn and Hartfields
- Westminster
|
It will not be the Council or Housing Association who will find
and allocate a property for you; instead you look for a home using
the Locata Home magazine or Locata website: www.locata.org.uk
How does it work?
You will need to apply to your Local
Council or Housing Association and they will assess your housing
need.
When the assessment is complete, you will be given a band (A, B, C
or D) and a priority date. This will give you an idea of what types
of homes you are eligible to bid for.
How are properties advertised?
Locata advertises in a fortnightly bulletin sheet. Copies are
available in council offices, libraries, community centres, on the
Locata website www.locata.org.uk, in
every hostel with a move-on policy and at PCHA office at 192
High Road, Willesden. You can also get the bulletin sheet
sent to your home. To view Locata Homes Advertisement Cycles
