People wish to
transfer for a
number of reasons, perhaps the home they live in is too large or
too small, or they might need to have a property on the ground
floor or on one level because of a
medical
problem.

Mutual exchange
A mutual exchange allows you to swap your home with another council
or housing association tenant subject to your landlords
permission.
PCHA is now a registered member of
Homeswapper and House Exchange,
Schemes for tenants who want to exchange their home.
Through Homeswapper and House Exchange, council tenants and housing
association tenants can swap their properties. The website
addresses are www.homeswapper.co.uk and
www.houseexchange.org.uk.
The system is web based and use of these sites is free
for all PCHA tenants.
It is very important that you do not move until you have your
landlord's approval in writing and you have signed the Assignment
documents.
