Pathmeads' temporary hostel residents go to the seaside

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

Thirteen hostel residents from Westminster, who rarely get the opportunity to leave the city, enjoyed a day trip to Southend-on-Sea on Friday 11 September. The trip was open to all Pathmeads' temporary housing residents living in the properties it manages in Westminster, including some from Frampton Street Hostel. Pathmeads Temporary Housing, part of Genesis Housing Group.

The day trip was financed by a grant of £830 received from the Knowles Trust, part of Genesis' small grants programme, which provides small grants for grassroots community groups across London who are helping people build better lives.

Susan Raison, a resident at Frampton Street Hostel, Westminster, said 'Everyone who attended had a lovely day out of London. The weather was great, and we spent the day relaxing on the beach, visiting the town and enjoying fish and chips on the promenade. It was fantastic and I'm really looking forward to doing the same next year - maybe Margate!'
