On 12 December, Dawn Butler MP joined PCHA's Len Williams Court Tenants' Association for a Diversity Christmas celebration, held at The Marriott Hotel in Maida Vale. PCHA is part of Genesis Housing Group.

The event brought together Len Williams Court residents, older residents from other housing associations from the borough, as well as PCHA's floating support tenants.

Jack 'The Incredible' Orlando, Kofi Dennis the Drummer, DJ Stand Wicked, and jazz musicians Gabrielle Duo entertained the 85 guests who attended for the Christmas dinner, speeches and dancing.

Dawn Butler, MP for Brent, said "Everyone here, from Patrick, 98, to those a lot younger, deserve a place in this five-star hotel, enjoying a Christmas dinner together. Everyone here has contributed to the community in Brent for years and the diversity, love and warmth shines out from this room and reminds me of what Christmas is all about. I think Labour Cllr Len Williams, who stood for social equality and fairness - especially as a disabled person himself - will be looking down proudly today and thinking what a fantastic event this is."

Ralph Fox, Mayor of Brent, said "Brent is the most multi-cultural borough in
Europe and it is full of people who care and volunteer. This event is an absolutely brilliant example of the way the people of Brent come together and celebrate."

Dame Betty Asafu-Adjaye said "This event is excellent - we serve our older residents through special partnerships and there is an excellent interaction between PCHA's
Len Williams Court and the community. Shirley Ebikeme, the scheme manager at Len Williams Court worked tirelessly planning for this special event and she makes the older people of the borough feel special.

Estelle Alexander, 92, a resident at PCHA's Len Williams Court, said "I'm having a lovely time here today. Len Williams Court is a very sociable place and I think it's wonderful how so many people are brought together from around the community like this."
