Frequently asked questions

How much time will I have to commit if I get involved?

It's really up to you and depends on which area of PCHA's services interests you. The TCF meets six times a year to discuss housing policy, the Maintenance Action Group meets monthly to monitor our repair contractors, and the Estate Services Panel meets quarterly to monitor grounds maintenance and gardening.

Local resident associations typically meet between two and six times per year.

Does resident involvement really make any difference?

You can make a difference to the way your housing services are delivered by giving your views and feedback at the various PCHA forums and panels.

The Tenants Services Authority, the Government body that oversees housing associations, is adamant that residents have a genuine say in the services they receive and PCHA is committed to taking residents views into account in order to improve satisfaction with our housing services.

Is funding available?

Yes. Resident associations are eligible to receive an annual grant for running costs including stationary and administration costs, travel expenses, phone calls, meeting room hire, etc.

There are also grants available for one-off community events and community projects, especially involving the elderly, vulnerable or young people. Individual residents who attend PCHA meetings are reimbursed their travel costs.

How do I find out more about resident involvement at PCHA?

You can call the Resident Involvement Team on 020 8451 8000, email us at residentinvolvement@pcha.org.uk or write to us at 192-196 Willesden High Road, Willesden, NW10 2PB.

Can I go along to a meeting to see what its like?

Yes. If you would like to attend any one of PCHA's resident forums or panels as an observer contact the Resident Involvement Team for more details.

Will I be paid for my time?

No, but there is an annual payment for residents who attend a certain number of meetings and events over a one-year period. Travel costs incurred whilst attending PCHA events will be refunded and food and refreshments are provided when appropriate.
