Most of the UK's carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions actually come from energy we use every day - at home. In order to generate this energy, there is a need to burn fossil fuels (coal, oil and gas) which produce 'greenhouse' gases - in particular CO2 - which is changing our climate and damaging the environment.
