Can I make improvements and alterations to my home?

Yes, it is possible for you to make improvements and alterations to your home, for example you might want to fit some shelving or install a shower. But before you make any alterations you must first get:

• written permission from PCHA
• approvals relating to planning and building control from your local council.

We will not unreasonably withhold our consent so long as the work is carried out to our specified standard and there will be no inconvenience caused to others. If in doubt, always ask; our maintenance department is happy to give some initial advice. In some circumstances, you will be entitled to claim compensation at the end of your tenancy for improvements made to your home.
